Greetings from Our President
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ® was founded in 1908 at Howard University. The mission of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority has remained the same over the course of the sororities 114 years and continues to guide the sorority as it has flourished into an international organization with chapters all over the world and with over 300, 000 members.
Alpha Kappa Alpha’s mission is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, to promote unity and friendship among college women, to study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women in order to improve their social stature, to maintain a progressive interest in college life, and to be of “Service to All Mankind”.
Our current International Program, Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service, focuses on college readiness for high school students, promoting and supporting Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), building economic legacies in our community, the arts and making a global impact by partnering with several international organizations to offer assistance to underserved international communities.
Gamma Psi Omega is comprised of a diverse group of college educated, professional women who continue to serve Northwest Indiana by providing innovative programs that address the needs of our community. We are proud to continue the vision our illustrious charter members had and cherish and honor their legacy by being of “Service to All Mankind”.
Yours in Service,
